Incidents of fighting in class have become so common that they are heard every day, sometimes with teachers and sometimes with students. In Lucknow, a 5 year old nursery class child was beaten by the class monitor for 12 minutes. This incident happened in the absence of the class teacher. The Klaus monitor repeatedly slapped the boy. Holding his head, he also pulled out the boy’s hair. This incident happened at ALS Academy, Lucknow.

In the class, the teacher had punished about 18 children to sit on the bench with their heads down. After the teacher left the class for some time, when the monitor saw a child raising his head, he started beating him.

Later the boy got up from his place and tried to go out through one of the doors of the classroom. But the class monitor blocked his way. She pulled the boy back inside and slapped him again.

The door of the classroom was closed from inside using the monitor. After this the child tried to open the other door, which seemed closed. But he was again dragged back to his seat and beaten. During this entire incident, other children of the class remained sitting silently in the class with their heads down.
