1. America and Iran signed MoU to end war
- Late on June 18, US President Donald Trump signed the MoU related to ending the war between America and Iran at the Versailles Palace in France.
- After Trump, Iranian President Masoud Pazhakian also gave his approval to the electronic signature tax agreement with Iran.
- During this period, French President Emmanuel Macron was also present. Now an interim agreement has been signed to end the war between America and Iran.
- Under this agreement, the war in Iran ended and the conflict in Lebanon will also end.
- At the same time, agreement was reached on 16 issues including reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and ending the US naval blockade.
- This peace agreement was to be signed in Geneva, Switzerland on June 19, but a day before the scheduled event, it was signed in the historic Versailles Palace in France.

3. Aluminum Extrusion inaugurated in Nagpur
- On June 19, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone of Aluminum Extrusion Press at the Ordnance Factory of Yantra India Limited in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
- Aluminum extrusion is a manufacturing process used to create lightweight yet strong parts.
- This project will be important in India’s defense and aerospace manufacturing sector and its capacity will be 10,000 tonnes.
- Aluminum extrusions will be used in military vehicles, missile systems, aircraft structures and naval platforms.
- Domestic production of these materials will increase self-reliance in the field of defense security and will also increase the supply chain.
- With this press, indigenous aluminum components required for defence, missile, aviation and space programs can be made in India.

- In the aluminum extrusion process, hot aluminum billet is passed through a special die under extreme pressure, thereby producing profiles of the desired shape.

5. CETA will be implemented between India and UK
- On June 18, India and the UK officially announced that the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) will come into force from July 15, 2026.
- 99% of Indian exports will get access without any duty and mutual trade between the two countries will be strengthened.
- Talks on this agreement started in January 2022 and this agreement was approved in July 2025.
- The agreement will promote trade, investment, services and movement of professionals between the two countries.
- With the implementation of this agreement, about 99% of India’s export products will be available duty free in the UK market.
- With this, there will be less duty on UK products coming to India like automobiles, whiskey, food products and other goods.
- After this agreement, India’s textile, leather footwear, pharmaceuticals and engineering sectors will benefit.
