First 715 marks shown on website, then result missing
Simran Rani, a student from village Nadele (Sihala) in Samrala area of Ludhiana district, said everything was normal at home. The result was released late night on 16th July. When we checked by entering the roll number on the website, 715 marks were visible out of 720 and rank-1 was written. Seeing the good marks, an atmosphere of happiness was created in the house and sweets were distributed in the house. Sarpanch Neeraj also honored him after reaching home. However, after some time the whole matter changed.
According to the family, later when it was learned that Aryan Gupta of Ludhiana, who had scored 715 marks, and Panshul Bansal of Haryana had got All India Rank (AIR) 1, Simran logged in again to see her rank.
Even at that time only 715 marks appeared on the website, but his name was not found in the main merit list. After this he opened the website for the third time and checked the result, but this time the result was not visible. Tried several times after this, but nothing was shown.
Simran showed the screenshot of the scorecard…

used to study 12 to 13 hours Simran
Simran’s father Hardeep Kumar and grandfather are farmers. The father said that despite limited resources, Simran used to study for 12 to 13 hours every day. Mother Poonam said that if 715 marks were shown on the website then why is the name not there in the merit list. He has demanded that the student’s OMR sheet and answer key be placed before the family, so that the entire matter can be investigated impartially.
Sarpanch said – Simran is a hardworking student
Village Sarpanch Neeraj says that Simran is a hard-working student and her screenshot was also taken at the time of declaration of results. The family has complained about this matter to the concerned authorities, after which the family has been called to Delhi.
Where clarification will be sought in the entire matter. If solution is not found there too then court will be approached. However, no official response has come yet from NTA in this matter.

Two different results of the same student in Haryana
Another shocking case has come to light from Haryana. Haryana candidate Mukul Kajal has sent a complaint to the Director General of NTA alleging that major changes were made in his scorecard without any information. It should be repaired.
According to the complaint, Mukul’s marks were recorded as 605/720 (All India Rank 9551) in the scorecard downloaded from the official website on July 17, 2026. But just a few hours later, on the morning of July 18, when the scorecard was downloaded again, his scores dropped to just 60/720.
Due to this, Mukul’s All India rank dropped to 18,76,324. The student claims that he has the original scorecard of July 17 safe. Also, by matching the OMR response sheet and the final answer key of NTA, their score becomes only 605 marks.
11.21 lakh students passed the examination
National Testing Agency (NTA) had released the result of NEET UG 2026 late on 16th July. This year, around 20 lakh students had appeared for the examination, out of which 11.21 lakh students have qualified for admission to medical, dental, AYUSH and other medical courses.
For the first time after 2020 and 2021, no student was able to achieve a perfect score of 720. Aryan Gupta of Ludhiana and Panshul Bansal of Haryana became All India toppers with 715 marks out of 720. 19 students scored more than 700, while 138 candidates scored more than 690.
More than 93% of the top scorers had appeared for the exam for the first time. 99% of the top rankers were between 17 and 19 years of age. Of the total candidates who have qualified, more than 58% are girls and 55.1% are boys. Students can check their scorecard at neet.nta.nic.in.

Exam was held again due to paper leak
The NEET-UG 2026 exam held on May 3 was canceled due to paper leak allegations. After this, NTA conducted the examination again on 21st June. This examination was conducted in 13 languages at 5,440 examination centers in 551 cities across the country and abroad.
NTA also made major changes in the evaluation process of the exam this year. For the first time, all evaluation stages were completed in parallel instead of one after the other. Due to this, the result could be released on time. At the same time, for the first time the process of OMR sheet challenge was kept separate from the process of releasing the answer key.
