Aarohi Deshpande from Pune is the girls topper of JEE Advanced 2026.

For the first time, more than 10,000 girls have qualified in the JEE Advanced 2026 result released on Monday. This is the first time that such a large number of girls have qualified for admission to IITs. Almost one out of every four girls who appeared for the exam this year achieved success.

Girls’ success rate increased by 89%

Girls’ participation in STEM education has increased every year since supernumerary seats were implemented in IITs in 2019 to increase their participation. The number of girls qualifying for IITs was 5,356 in 2019, which has increased to 10,107 in 2026. That means an increase of about 89%.

At the same time, the number of girls appearing in JEE Advanced has increased from 33,249 to 40,562, which is an increase of about 22%. This shows that both the participation and success of girls in IITs are continuously increasing.

1,79 lakh candidates had appeared

A total of 1,87,389 candidates had registered for JEE Advanced 2026, out of which 1,79,694 candidates appeared in the exam. Of these, a total of 56,880 candidates have passed the examination. Candidates can check their JEE Advanced Score 2026 using Roll Number/Mobile Number and DOB. However, no update has been given regarding JEE final answer key yet.

His father Prasad Deshpande is an IT professional, while mother Amita Deshpande is an environmental engineer. Both of them gave full support in the preparation of their daughter by working from home. Aarohi told The Indian Express that her focus was only on getting good marks and not on securing ranks.
