Bihar | Prince Raj Shuklas Agrate Startup Success

Prince Raj Shukla, who lives in Purnia district in Bihar, left his job in Bengaluru and started an agriculture startup and today he has earned very well from his startup.

Actually Prince wanted to go abroad and get a master’s degree. But due to the Corona lockdown, he had to leave his job and return to his village.

After coming back to the village, he borrowed Rs 1 lakh from his father and started the agriculture start up Agrate (AGRATE India Private Limited). Although initially he had to face taunts from the people.

The villagers called him an idiot

Many people said that they were ruining their future by living in the village. He was called a boorish person. But people’s words had no effect on him. At the beginning of its work, Prince was to supply good quality seeds, organic fertilizers and modern tools to the farmers.

However, the Prince knew that supplies alone would not solve the problem. Therefore, he started training small farmers in modern farming.

Company turnover Rs 2.5 crore

Today the company is doing an annual turnover of Rs 2.5 crore. He has brought positive changes in the lives of many farmers through his efforts. He is also known as ‘Makhana Boy’. He connected more than 10 thousand farmers by traveling from village to village and using technology (video call, workshop, app) taught them the correct methods of sowing seeds, water saving techniques and organic farming.

Farmers benefit from Prince’s methods

Due to the methods taught by Prince, farmers’ crops have doubled and losses have reduced. Gradually Egret not only strengthened the supply chain but also provided better market links to farmers for their produce.

Partnering with big companies

Now seeing the success of Prince, many big companies have also partnered with him. AGRATE and its founder Prince Raj Shukla have been honored at various platforms including the Best Leading Bihar Entrepreneur Award for entrepreneurship and agricultural innovation in Bihar.
