- Agniveer CAPF Recruitment | 50% Quota For Ex Agniveers In GD Posts

The Central Government has announced 50% reservation for the posts of Constable (GD) and Rifleman (GD) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles for ex-fire veterans. The Home Ministry gave this information in the Lok Sabha.
Along with this, many state governments like Haryana, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have also announced special reservation and age relaxation for firefighters in their police and other security services. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai gave this information in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.
According to the Home Ministry, former firefighters will also be exempted from Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and written examination. That means their recruitment process has been made easier than before.

‘Special wing’ created in Home Ministry
To improve the future and employment opportunities of former Agniveers, the Home Ministry has also set up an Ex-Agniveer Wing. This wing will work to coordinate their appointment and other opportunities in various security forces.
Announcement before completion of term
The four-year tenure of the first batch of Agniveers recruited under the ‘Agneepath Yojana’ will be completed by the end of this year. Keeping their future in mind, the government has already prepared the way for employment in Central Paramilitary Forces and Assam Rifles.

Firemen will get reservation in these states:
Haryana
Approving the Agniveer Policy, the State Cabinet has increased the reservation for former Agniveer in services under the Haryana Government to 20% instead of 10%. These notably include Forest Guard (Environment, Forest and Wildlife Department), Warder (Prison Department) and Mining Guard (Mining and Geology Department).
Delhi
20% posts of constable in Delhi Police are reserved for former firefighters. Besides, they have also been exempted from the physical efficiency test. Not only this, former firefighters have a relaxation of three years in the maximum age limit prescribed for recruitment to the post of constable, which is currently 18-25 years. Additionally, candidates of the first batch of Agniveer Yojana have been given an additional relaxation of 5 years.
Uttarakhand, Sikkim:
The state government has implemented 10% horizontal reservation in uniformed posts. Sikkim state has also announced 20% reservation for police recruitment.
Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh also, 20% horizontal reservation has been kept for former firefighters in UP Police (Civil Police), Home Guards, Fire Services and Jail Warder recruitment. There is a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit for general category candidates and 5 years relaxation for the first batch of Agniveers.
