- Foreign Universities In India: August Batch Starts, Study Cost Reduced 30 40%

Now there will be no need to go abroad to get a degree from a foreign university in India. The Central Government has so far issued Letters of Intent (LoI) to 15 foreign universities to open campuses in India. Most of these campuses will start the first batch from August.
In the initial phase, 200 to 250 students will be admitted in each campus. In the next five years, a target has been set to increase this to 1,000 to 1,200 students annually in each campus.
Institutions like University of Aberdeen, Bristol, York, Illinois Tech, Liverpool and Victoria University are opening their campuses in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. More than 10 thousand applications have been received for the current session.
Studies, examinations, evaluation and degrees in the Indian campuses of foreign universities will be completely as per the global standards of their home campuses. In the first phase, the focus will be on AI, Computer Science and STEM subjects.
You will get a chance to study abroad for 1 to 2 semesters, job network will also increase.

1. Campuses of which foreign universities will open in India?
Universities of Aberdeen (Mumbai), Bristol (Mumbai), Liverpool (Bengaluru), York (Mumbai), Illinois Tech (Mumbai) and Victoria University (Delhi) are opening campuses. More than 10 thousand applications have been received for the current session.
2. What will be the qualification for admission?
At least 75% marks in 12th and 55% to 70% marks in graduation will be required. There will be no need to give IELTS if you have 70% to 85% marks in English in the board exam.
3. What will be the syllabus, exam and degree?
Studies, examinations, evaluation and degree will be strictly as per the standards of the home campus. In the first phase, the focus will be on AI, Computer Science and STEM subjects.
4. Will there be a chance to study in a foreign campus?
Under the exchange program you will be able to study abroad for 1 to 2 semesters. University of York has come up with 2+1 model. Students of Bristol University will also be able to use the AI supercomputer present in Britain.
5. How will the faculty be?
There will be a mix of Indian and foreign professors. One-third of Victoria University’s faculty will come from Melbourne. Illinois Tech is recruiting experienced teachers of foreign and Indian origin.
6. Will you get scholarship?
A fund of about Rs 1,000 crore has been kept for the next five years. Depending on merit and need, scholarship will be available from 10% to 100%. Aberdeen will give scholarship up to Rs 2 lakh and Bristol Rs 10 lakh annually.
7. What will be the benefit despite the fees being high?
It will cost 30-40% less in India than spending Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1.2 crore going abroad. Students will get a global degree, international faculty, strong alumni network and better career opportunities.
8. What could be the picture by 2040?
According to the report of Deloitte and Knight Frank, by 2040, more than 5.6 lakh students can study on the campuses of foreign universities in India. This will save foreign currency worth 113 billion dollars (about Rs 10.67 lakh crore) from going out of the country.
Foreign university gives reason for opening campus in India
Vice-Chancellor of the University of York, Prof. Charlie Jeffrey said-
India is currently one of the most important education markets in the world. We want to provide Indian students with education and opportunities like their home campus. In this direction, we have also signed an agreement with the Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai, so that students get an opportunity to connect with tech startups and industry.
Meanwhile, Illinois Tech Vice President Mallick Sundaram said, ‘We are recruiting professors from America and other countries. We are also adding Indian teachers who have studied in American universities, so that students can get the same environment and education in India as they get in our foreign campuses.
