- On June 24, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the International Sports Stadium in Odisha.
- This stadium has been built in President Draupadi Murmu’s hometown Mayurbhanj district.
- South Asia’s leading sports infrastructure company, ‘Great Sports Tech’ has designed this stadium.
- The objective of this stadium is to provide opportunities to the youth of rural areas to progress in sports.
- A football field of FIFA standard, a running track certified by World Athletics and tennis and pickleball courts have been built in this stadium.
- Matches can be played in this stadium even at night. It has modern lighting facilities for organizing events.
Football, athletics, hockey, tennis, cricket and multi-sport infrastructure has been created in this stadium.

- On June 24, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player in the world to score a goal in 6 Football World Cups.

3. Aviator Studio founder Teimuraj Ugulwa passes away
- On June 23, Teimuraj Ugulava, founder of Aviator game studio, passed away. He was 56 years old.
- Ugulava is recognized for its significant contribution to the development of Georgia’s modern hospitality and gaming industry.
- Ugulwa founded the Adarja Group, later being associated with the Aviator brand and Aviator Studio.
- Ugulava played a key role in the development of Rooms Hotels, Stamba Hotel, Fabrika Tbilisi and other prestigious projects.
- These projects brought global recognition to Georgia’s modern tourism industry.
- ‘Rooms Hotels’ is a Georgia-based lifestyle hospitality brand that operates design-focused boutique hotels.
- The brand, launched in 2012, is known for its unique blend of industrial-style architecture, local culture and hospitality.
Ugulwa was the founder and CEO of ‘Aviator Studio’.

4. NHAI will start the country’s first Transport Logistics Research Center
- On June 23, the Central Government announced the establishment of the first Transport Logistics Research Center of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Delhi.
- NHAI has entered into this agreement (MoU) with the National Council of Economic Research (NCAER).
- The aim of this center is to reduce logistics costs and modernize the transport network in India.
- This center will monitor smart highways, real-time transport, and conduct research on multi-modal policy, toll policy and road safety.
- This will be India’s first permanent and independent institute, which will conduct research on the economic aspects of transportation and logistics.
- In the research centre, better data analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be used for transport management.
- NHAI will also work in collaboration with leading educational institutes for this project.
- India aims to bring its logistics capacity to global standards and reduce road accidents.
- This center will also test new technologies and designs to reduce road accidents.
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, NHAI and other government agencies will get help in this research.

5. India and Israel sign an MoU for auditing
- On June 22, this MoU was signed between the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) and the Supreme Audit Institution of Israel (State Comptroller and Ombudsman).
- Public sector auditing between India and Israel, i.e., independent investigation of the financial transactions and functioning of government ministries, departments, agencies.
- The objective of this agreement is to share better technology in the field of audit between the two countries. So that transparency and accountability can be ensured in government expenditure.
- Under this MoU, training programs will also be organized for audit officers of both the countries.
- After this MoU, cooperation will increase in the field of digital audit, IT audit and data analytics.
- This MoU took place during the visit of Israel’s State Comptroller and Ombudsman and EUROSI Chairman Matanyahu Engelman to India.
- On this occasion, Comptroller and Auditor General of India K. Sanjay Murthy also held a bilateral meeting with Matanyahu Engelmann.
- In this meeting, Deputy Controller and Auditor General (HR, IR, Legal and Coordination) K.S. Subramaniam, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) BK. Mohanty was present.
- Along with this, Director General (International Relations) Vimalendra Patwardhan, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar and Head of Israel’s International Department of State Comptroller Miri Weiss attended.
This MoU will strengthen transparency and accountability in the financial management of the government.
6. Walking shark species found in Indonesia
- On June 22, scientists have identified a new species of ‘walking shark’ in Indonesian waters and named it Kadedekedeva.
- This shark can walk on the bottom of the sea with its fins, hence it is being called a walking shark.
- These sharks are mainly found in shallow coral reef areas. This discovery will enhance coral reef ecosystem conservation in the Indo-Pacific region.
- After the discovery of this new shark, scientists will be able to do research on sharks and conservation and research of marine biodiversity can be done.
According to scientists, most species of walking sharks are found only in limited geographical areas.
