More than 50 lakh children took the exam According to the UP Secondary Education Council, a total of 52 lakh 30 thousand 297 students had registered for the 10th and 12th board exams in 2026. 27 lakh 50 thousand 945 students were registered in high school, of which 14 lakh 38 thousand 682 were boys and 13 lakh 12 thousand 263 were girls. Whereas, 24 lakh 79 thousand 352 students had registered in Intermediate.

The examinations started from February 18 at 8033 centers in all 75 districts. The examination was conducted in two shifts. The examination ended on 12 March. 2.87 lakh students left the examination. Of these, the number of high school candidates is 1.61 lakh and the number of intermediate students is 1.26 lakh.

254 evaluation centers were made, evaluation continued till April 4. A total of 254 evaluation centers were set up in the state. A total of 1 lakh 52 thousand 780 teachers were appointed to check copies, which included 96 thousand 804 examiners for high school and 55 thousand 976 examiners for intermediate. The evaluation started from 18 March till 4 April. This year 2 crore 80 lakh answer sheets were evaluated. This included about 1 crore 57 lakh copies of high school and 1 crore 23 lakh copies of intermediate.

Failed students will also be able to pass

  • After the release of UP Board Result-2026, such students who fail in one or two subjects will also have a chance to pass. After the release of the results, applications for compartment will be taken by UPMSP (Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council). Students will be able to appear again for the subject in which they have failed by filling the form within the stipulated date. This will save their year from getting spoiled.
  • Apart from this, if any student is not satisfied with the marks obtained in any subject, he/she can also apply for scrutiny. After this the copy will be re-checked. Only the marks obtained by all students in scrutiny and compartment exams will be considered final.

Marksheet will be available on DigiLocker This will be the second time that the marksheet will be made available on DigiLocker after the release of the result. After this, hard copies will be made available through schools as before.
