Many irregularities have come to light in the on-screen marking system of the Central Board of Secondary Education i.e. CBSE. From checking blurred scanned copies, showing status pending despite payment of fees, CBSE post-verification servers being down and technical glitches, many flaws have come to light.
Many students have shared the scanned copy of their checked answer sheet on social media. According to the students, these scans are of such poor quality that it is difficult to read even one’s own writing. In such a situation, how did the teachers check the copy?
While sharing the photo of the scanned answer sheet, one tagged CBSE and wrote-
Time was 5 days, website did not work for 3 days
Class 12 students also faced technical glitches in getting their scanned copies and applying on the CBSE post-verification portal for revaluation. The board had fixed the dates for application from May 19 to 23, but students say that due to technical problems the website did not work for the third consecutive day.
Students had 5 days to see the scanned copy of the answer sheet, out of which 3 days were lost due to technical glitches on the portal.
1,27,146 applications came on the portal in 3 hours The portal reopened by 7:30 pm on May 20. Within 3 hours of opening of the portal, 1,27,146 applications were received.
CBSE extended the application deadline by one day
Due to technical problem on the website, CBSE extended the application deadline for scanned copy of answer copy by one day. The board announced this by issuing a notice on the 19th.
Students have been given time till May 23 to apply for a copy of their answer sheet. Still the website did not work due to technical glitch. On May 20, CBSE said in its official notice that the technical problem on the website would be fixed by noon. However, there have still been many problems on the portal.
The fee sometimes appears to be Rs 3 and sometimes Rs 69,420.
Even now technical glitches are occurring while applying. Students paid the fees several times while applying to see the copy. Payment status still shows failed. However, when I paid Rs 3, the payment was accepted.
According to many students, the payment on the website is showing Rs 8000 instead of Rs 100.
The Education Ministry had reduced the CBSE re-evaluation fees on May 17. Under this, Rs 100 will have to be paid instead of Rs 700 for the scanned copy of the answer sheet, Rs 100 instead of Rs 500 for marks verification or totaling. At the same time, for getting the copy checked again per question, now only Rs 25 will be charged instead of Rs 100. The Education Ministry had taken this decision amid protests by students after the 12th board results.
Many people online are claiming that the CBSE portal has been hacked. No official response has come yet from the CBSE board.
Many students alleged that a copy of the scanned answer sheet was not received even after two days of paying the fees.
Supplementary answer sheet left in scanning
A parent said that the supplementary i.e. extra sheet was missing from the copy of his child’s mark sheet. In the scanning, the supplementary answer sheet was not scanned, whereas the supplementary sheet is also mentioned in the main answer sheet.
A student claimed that his friend got half marks for the correct answer in MCQ of number 1.
CBSE said- ‘The website is working perfectly’
Amidst all the irregularities, CBSE has not yet issued any official statement on this. In its social media post made some time ago, the Board had claimed that now the website is working perfectly.
Students said- ‘Give grace marks’
After this irregularities, students have raised the demand of giving grace marks. Many teachers have also come out in his support. He says that instead of such a long process, the results of the children should be re-released by giving grace marks.
