Baidyapur Vidyapeeth, located in Kalna No. 2 Block of East Burdwan in West Bengal, has been operating as a co-ed (girls and boys) school for the last 50 years, but recently, when girls students studying in class 11 applied on the education portal for registration, it was found that Baidyapur Vidyapeeth has been converted into a boys school.

Even the administration is not aware of the change

Even the school administration itself is not aware of this change. Due to this change in the status of the school, the admission of 120 girls students has been cancelled.

Studies are conducted here from class 5th to 12th. There are more than 1,700 students and 3 teachers in the school. This university was established in 1976. Since then, girl students of class 11th and 12th have been taking admission in the school.

Baidyapur Vidyapeeth has been suddenly declared a boys school by the education department without any information. However, for the last 50 years, girls and boys students could study together in this school.

Admission of 11th class girls canceled

After the change in the status of the school, the admission of girls students who had taken admission in class 11th has been cancelled. However, this rule will be ineffective on girl students who are currently studying in 12th class and they can give the 12th exam.

The school never got co-ed approval

After investigation, the school administration has claimed that this school had never received government approval for co-ed, but despite this the school has been operating as a co-ed school for the last 50 years.

The school administration has become active after the cancellation of admission of 120 girl students studying in class 11th. In this regard, the in-charge teacher has contacted the District Education Department, in which, keeping in view the future of the girls taking admission in class 11th this year, a demand has been made to maintain the status of the school as co-ed for the time being. However, no positive response has been received so far.
