1. PM Modi launches Seychelles development projects
- On June 29, PM Modi announced 19 major agreements and development projects in Seychelles.
- These projects include starting UPI based digital payment, line of credit (loan) of Rs 1,250 crore, cyber security.
- Also, these projects include increasing cooperation in areas like Artificial Intelligence, health, education, agriculture, space and maritime security.
- Along with this, India also handed over one Fast Patrol Vessel, 10 utility vehicles, 5 boats, 6 ambulances, 500 metric tons of rice and 8,500 metric tons of cement to Seychelles.
- These agreements have been signed on the occasion of completion of 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
- Earlier on Sunday, Modi had participated in the 50th National Day celebrations of Seychelles as the chief guest.
- PM Modi is the first Indian PM to attend the Independence Day celebrations of Seychelles.

PM Modi reached Seychelles on June 27 on a 3-day visit.

2. Deepti Sharma became the highest wicket taker in international cricket
- On June 28, Deepti Sharma made the record of taking the most wickets in women’s international cricket.
- Deepti now has 356 international wickets including all three formats.
- Deepti has taken 22 wickets in Test, 166 in ODI and 168 wicket in T-20 International.
- Deepti has broken Jhulan Goswami’s record of 355 wickets.
- With this achievement, Deepti Sharma has become the highest wicket-taker in women’s international cricket.
- Deepti made her T-20 International (T20I) debut on 31 January 2016 against Australia.
- In 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India awarded Deepti the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy.
- In 2025, Deepti was adjudged ‘Player of the Tournament’ for her excellent performance in the Women’s ODI World Cup.
- In December 2025, she became the highest wicket-taker in women’s T20 international cricket.

Deepti became the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in the WPL in March 2024.
3. Cricketer Ben Stokes announced his retirement
- On June 28, England captain Ben Stokes announced his retirement from international cricket.
- The ongoing third Test against New Zealand will be Ben’s last match.
- In his 15-year career, Ben Stokes played many memorable innings for England.
- Stokes made the 2019 World Cup final the historic Ashes Test of 2019.
- Stokes played a decisive role in England winning the World Cup in the 2019 ODI and Stokes was the winner of the T20 World Cup in 2022.
- Among the select all-rounders who have taken more than 7,000 runs and more than 250 wickets in Test cricket.
- Stokes made his Test debut in the Ashes series in 2013-14 and has been the Test captain of England since April 2022.

Stokes played a total of 122 tests for England. Of these, he captained in 44 matches.

4. Tamil actor K. Bhagyaraj’s demise
- On June 28, Tamil actor, director and screenwriter K. Bhagyaraj passed away. He was 73 years old.
- Krishnaswamy Bhagyaraj was considered one of the most influential filmmakers of Tamil cinema.
- Krishnaswamy was also called the Screenplay King for his special screenwriting style.
- The screenplay and story of the 1994 blockbuster film ‘Raja Babu’ was written by Krishnaswamy.
- Krishnaswamy started his film career as an assistant director to director Bharathiraja.
- Krishnaswamy later became one of the well-known writers and directors of Tamil cinema.
- Along with this, Krishnaswamy acted in more than 75 films and directed more than 25 films.
- Krishnaswamy received the Filmfare Best Actor Award for his role in the film Mundanai Mudichu.
- Bhagyaraj had directed the Amitabh Bachchan starrer film Aakhri Raasta.

Krishnaswamy also acted in more than 75 films.
5. Union Minister Piyush Goyal visits Greece and Britain
- On June 29, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal arrived on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Greece.
- On the first day of the visit, Piyush Goyal has reached Athens, the capital of Greece after his meetings in Britain.
- During the visit the delegation will also hold discussions with Indian and Greek industrialists at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
- The objective of this visit is to further strengthen trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries with India.
- During his visit to Britain, Piyush Goyal will also review the preparations for the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA/CETA) before it comes into effect from July 15.
- During this visit, he will hold a high level meeting with the Trade and Business Minister of Britain.
- Piyush had earlier participated in ‘UK-India Week 2026’.
- New agreements will be discussed to increase bilateral trade between India and Greece.
- This visit is part of India’s policy to strengthen economic ties with the European Union (EU).
- During this visit, there will also be talks on maritime trade and logistics with Greece.
- A special agreement for exchange of startup ecosystem is expected to be signed during this visit.
- This visit is being undertaken with the aim of giving new impetus to trade, investment and strategic economic cooperation between India and Greece.

This visit is being considered an important step towards deepening the economic relations between India and Greece.
6. New rules of National Ambulance Services (NAS) released
- On June 29, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda issued new rules for National Ambulance Services (NAS).
- Health Minister J.P. Nadda released SUMAN (Safe Motherhood Assurance) Roadmap 2030 on 29 June 2026.
- This announcement was made at the 16th Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW) conference.
- Now there will be GIS based mapping of accident prone areas and hospitals, so that the nearest and appropriate hospital can be identified.
- GPS tracking will be introduced in ambulances, through which the equipped ambulances will be monitored in real time.
- It has been made mandatory for all ambulances to follow AIS-125 (National Ambulance Code) standards set by the government.
- Ambulance services are being integrated across the country with a single emergency response number 112.
- It aims to improve the quality and response time of ambulance services across the country.
- According to the new rule, digital tracking and centralized call center system will be made mandatory.
- According to the new rules, immediate access to the patient can be made and the response time will also be decided.
- According to the new rules, Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) will be implemented for ambulance services.
- After the new rules, ambulance personnel will be given training and security will be strengthened.
- Monitoring of services will be improved through digital technology and real-time tracking.
- Timely medical assistance will be provided in case of maternal and child health, accidents and other emergencies.
7. Suman Roadmap 2030 started
- Suman Roadmap 2030 launched on 29 May. Its main goal is to reduce maternal mortality rate (MMR) and neonatal mortality rate.
- Under Roadmap 2030, free and quality health services will be provided to pregnant women.
- There is special emphasis on post-natal care and nutrition. In this, services will be monitored in government hospitals under the ‘zero tolerance’ policy.
- This is a comprehensive plan to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Services will be improved through technical assistance and digital monitoring.
- This scheme will be implemented in health centers and district hospitals across India. Its aim is to provide a secure future to every mother and child.
