While applying for re-evaluation, when I opened the CBSE website, it was written as ‘Site Under Maintenance’.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) 12th students will now be able to apply online for re-evaluation and scanned copy of answer-sheet from June 1. The board announced the extension of the date on Friday.

The board had started this process from May 19, but due to the high number of applications, the website was crashing. After this the date was extended to May 25. During re-evaluation, students faced technical problems like server down, payment failure and blurred page on the portal.

After the complaint of students, CBSE had stopped the application process for re-evaluation on the portal. The board says that it is working on improving the portal, so that students do not face problems while applying. This time more than 4 lakh students applied for re-evaluation of their copies.

CBSE has implemented On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for the first time this year. Many students and their parents had raised questions on OSM and complained that it has resulted in low marks. After this, a large number of students started applying for re-evaluation.

About 1.26 lakh applications were received for re-evaluation in the first 3 hours. CBSE had stopped updating its data. However, the board had claimed that lakhs of students had asked for scanned copies of their answer sheets and copies have been sent to most of the students.

Between February 17 and April 10, 17.68 lakh students appeared for the CBSE Class 12 exam. When the results came, this time only 85.2% students passed as compared to 88.39% last time. 22% i.e. more than 4 lakh students who appeared for the board exam have applied for re-evaluation.

Rahul said – Modi government is not worried about the future of students, but about saving power.

  • Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said on Friday that PM Modi’s silence and no action against the Education Minister shows that the government is not concerned about the future of lakhs of students but about saving its own government. From the very beginning, they have been demanding an independent judicial inquiry into the contracts given to CBSE’s OSM and COEMPT company. The youth of the country have the right to know the truth.
  • Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday asked the officials to resolve the problems of the students quickly and properly. No additional fees will be charged from any student. This system has been implemented on a large scale for the first time. It is believed that some irregularities have come to light. I take responsibility for this. They will be fixed soon.

CBSE said- OSM is accurate; Contract to Hyderabad company

CBSE says that this makes checking faster and more accurate and reduces errors in adding marks or data entry. Reversed after the result. Students complained about server down, payment failure and blurred pages.

According to the report of Indian Express, CBSE had given the contract to Hyderabad company Coempt Edutech Private Limited to check the copy of 12th board through OSM. This firm does digital evaluation work in states like Telangana, Karnataka and West Bengal.

In 2019, its name was Globarena Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Then it was accused of irregularities in data processing in the 12th board exam in Telangana. That year, more than 3 lakh out of 9.74 lakh children in the state had failed. On May 28, Dharmendra Pradhan admitted to irregularities in the re-evaluation process and said that every complaint would be resolved.
