Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the official notification of 72nd Combined (Prelims) Competitive Examination. According to this notification, there will be recruitment on a total of 1230 posts.
According to the information released by the Commission, the online application process will start from 7th May 2026, while the last date for applying has been fixed as 31st May 2026.
Candidates will be able to apply through the official website of the Commission.
On which posts there will be recruitment
Many important administrative and departmental posts are included under this recruitment process. Among these, the maximum number of posts is 365 for Revenue Officer (RO).
Apart from this, 130 posts of Cooperative Extension Officer, 101 posts of Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer (only for women), 100 posts of SDM/SDO and 65 posts of BDO are included.
Other major posts also include posts like DSP (22), Municipal Executive Officer (54), Labor Enforcement Officer (56), Supply Inspector (31), CDPO (20), Sugarcane Officer (44) and Financial Administrative Officer (32).
Category wise distribution of posts
Out of 1230 posts, 1077 posts are of general category, out of which 344 posts have been reserved for women. There are 153 posts of special category, out of which 15 posts are reserved for women.
According to the Commission, this examination can be conducted in the month of July. Candidates are advised to read the detailed advertisement and guidelines carefully before applying.

This examination of BPSC is considered to be one of the most prestigious competitive examinations of Bihar.
