Arnav Patel, who works in a Delhi company, is still waiting for his remaining salary even after almost 3 months of resigning from the job. As per rules, he should have received full and final settlement from the company within 2 days of the last working day, but the company is not even ready to pay the last month’s salary. Aparna, who worked in another company in Delhi, was also laid off by the company, but delayed giving her FNF for months. Ultimately, after taking legal help, Aparna was able to get her salary. The company said- Investigation is still going on. These cases are not of small offices but of big companies. Arnav worked as Area Sales Manager in Muthoot Capital Services Ltd for 2 years. In his case the company did not give FNF even after completion of 45 days. Despite repeated e-mails, no response was received. When pressed, the company HR replied on the mail – Internal investigation of the company is going on, any answer will be given only after investigating your involvement. However, it was not told when the investigation will be completed. Dainik Bhaskar tried to get information in this regard from the company but the company did not respond. Arnav told us that earlier also many employees were not given their money after telling them about things like internal investigation, police case etc. What are the rights of the employees? According to the new labor codes implemented in November 2025, companies are required to give full and final settlement to their employees within 2 days of the last working day. The company will have to complete all the formalities within 2 days. That means, in case of delay, employees can complain in the Labor Court. Employees can demand payment of not only their dues but also the money spent on mental harassment and legal battles due to delay. If the company withholds the salary for any reason, then a valid reason will have to be told to the employee. Employees can also complain against this. —————
